Galway/GoodWood

GoodWood

1:50 Beringer – Ran a huge race at Sandown last time of a mark of 98, up 1lb here at 99. He was 2nd last year in a similar contest on softer ground (Good at time of Writing) he is on a winning mark and 8/1 Each way is a fair price.

2:25 Lope Y Fernandez – This really is a top race and probably the best renewal of the race in a long time. I think he will improve a lot from Ascot when he was 2nd to Pinatubo. Visinari, Mystery Power and platinum star all bring good form to the race. I think Aidan’s runner will take a step forward here and put his classic credentials on the line. 6/1

3:00 Pretty Baby – Shooting from the hip here but put a line through that run at Ascot. She’s 2-2 at 7f as well as winning over Course and Distance as a 3 year old at this meeting last year. I think she can win this and at the price the value of the race 14/1 Each Way

3:35 Wells Farrh Go – a ready winner on his return to racing at Newmarket and did it very well, when backed into Favourite. Up in trip could see further improvement. Stradivarius a worthy favourite and most likely winner as he’s the champion of this distance. I think Wells Farrh Go is overpriced and a excellent Each Way bet at 28/1

4:10 Cobra Eye – ran a really nice debut at Haydock in which could be a decent race all in all. Needs to break quicker but that will come with experience from the debut run. He came home very well and is the one to beat. 7/4

4:45 Muthmir – has always ran well at this meeting in the much better King George G2 Stakes. He’s on a handy enough mark to go and get his head in front. A great servant for connections, would be good to see him at 9 years old back in the winners enclosure. 6/1

5:15 Nkosikazi – Ran a huge race at Newmarket on the July Course where it was her first run for the yard, she got a 5lb rise for this 2nd in a photo but I think she could still be well in. 3L back to the 3rd that day and is an exciting prospect. 5/1

Galway

5:20 Fast Buck – Looked a proper prospect when hacking up at Listowel confirming his promise he showed against Fakir D’oudairies in January at cork. His form is solid overall and the price of 11/10 looks correct and he will be hard to beat.

5:55 Hero’s Welcome – drops dramatically in trip for Fences debut. He’s built and bred like a chaser so this was always going to be his calling. He’s a fair bit to find in ratings but I am sure there is plenty more to come over fences. He’s priced as if he’s a lot to find but I’m sure he won’t be far away 40/1 Each Way

6:25 Darkest – A Ballydoyle Runner that I think is overpriced. She ran in a nice maiden and looked green enough. She will come on loads for that run and is overpriced, Aidan does have the favourite in Petite Mustique but I don’t think there is too much between them so side with Darkness at 20/1 Each Way

7:05 Mudlahhim – for me he has the best form in the race when 2nd to Magna Grecia on debut as a 2 year old. Trainer form is a concern but I think this colt will improve for his seasonal reappearance. One I would be watching is Dubai is Great who has been off since 2017 when with Jim Bolger he was punted off the boards to go of 1/3F and maybe make his odds look silly. Mudlahhim is currently 11/2

7:40 Marshall Jennings – The in form Jessie Harrington draws me to this horse and the highly touted claimer Tom Madden taking 3lb of his back putting him on a winning mark for me, it’s super competitive but I think this horse has a super chance and has been running well and being competitive. 18/1 Each way

8:10 Dance Emperor – Ran a real nice race at Navan last time out and this is over a little shorter trip that will help. He’s got Ben Coen on claiming 5lb and has a nice draw where many of the other contenders at the top of the market are in the car park. It’s a terrible race and wouldn’t be getting involved too much at 9/1 Each Way

8:40 Beckwith Place – Went off favourite last time at Bellewstown when no luck in running at all. Ronan Whelan gets back in the saddle to renew the partnership that won well at Leopordstown 2 runs ago. Any return to that form he won’t be far away again. 5/1

Galway

Going to be blogging every race of GoodWood and Galway this week. Along with sharing some football bets for the upcoming season.

5:20 Galway

Authorised Art 13/8 – Comes here after winning a good race at Punchestown very easily against older horses, I was very impressed by him and the way he still won even though he pulled very hard through the race.

5:55 Galway

Morning Skye 12/1 Each Way

Comes here on a nice mark of 109, blinkers fitted for the race. He has been running well without winning and into handicap looks like a nice chance to get on the board. Trainer is in fine form with a 18% strike rate in last 14 days

Galway 6:25

Innisfree 2/5

Price is about right, he flew home on debut, chasing home year of the tiger. He’s got a load of potential. Probably the most since Aidan ran Jamaica here in this race.

Galway 7:05

Pepperoni Pete 20/1 Each way

Going for the angle here that a new trainer can bring out the improvement needed in him. He’s Moved from Ger Lyons to the inform Jessie Harrington, gets claimer on and Cheekpieces, I’m hoping that the Mark is about right and change it scenery will help him

Galway 7:40

Litterale Ci 33/1 Each way

Returned to the flat at Newbury last week over the same trip in a hot race, this is much easier for me. Jockey takes 7lb off a nice mark of 89, which makes this winnable. Expect her to run a huge race for Harry Fry

8:10 Galway

Dundory 10/1

Tony Martin plot horse here, 3 runs since March over 5f, 7.5f and 9.5f now up to 12.5f at his favourite target meeting of the year. He’s placed in 2 runs and has a nice mark of 74,

8:40 Galway

Risk Factor 5/4

Ran a nice debut at Ballinrobe, probably unlucky not to win when having to travel widest of all in the race and leader got clear. Will be hard to beat here

York Dante Day 3

1:50 Mighty Spirit for me ran a huge debut up at Newcastle behind Lady Kermit. She absolutely flew home after starting slow and was very green throughout the race. She got marked up by myself as a horse to follow and I’m glad she comes here at a bit of a price. This is a good race and most likely a trial for Royal Ascot and will decide if they go, what race they are in.

Mighty Spirit 14/1 Each way 4 Places

2:25 Natalie’s Joy I’ve been waiting on her to make her seasonal debut. I was hugely impressed by her in 2 of the 3 runs last year at 6f. I can forgive her run at Royal Ascot in the Chesham where there was obviously a problem with her. Her form stacks up well and this is about her level. Form on GF ground and I’m genuinely excited to see what she can do.

Natalie’s Joy 4/1 Win

3:00 Southern France He looked to need the run last time in Ireland. I am a huge fan of this horse and it’s telling they send him here for a shot at Stradivarius. Good to Firm ground is a positive for him and hopefully he’s filled his frame out and is fit. He could really be a Ascot Gold Cup Horse. He’s very lightly raced and could be the huge improver in the field.

Southern France 7/1 Win

3:35 Mythical Madness Now I’m so angry i missed him at 10/1 last time after he became a non runner the time before. I have followed him for a while and it can be eventful. He needs things to fall right but York is as fair a track as any and with a win on the board he can back it up I feel. He’s only 1lb higher than the second that day Big Kitten who’s half the price.

Mythical Madness 12-1 Each way 4 Places

4:05 Accommodate Now I think this horse is miles well in at the weights. He’s been given a mark of 83 as a 3 year old. Ryan Moore goes down to 8st13 to ride him which is easy enough for him. He’s had a wind op over the winter and starts off here, I think he’s a group horse in the making and I like Sir Michael Stoute has taken his time and come to take advantage of the Handicap mark.

Accommodate 7/2 win

4:35 Moss Gill Comes here as a lightly raced 3 year old son of superstar sire No Nay Never. He’s bumped into 2 nice types in Lady In France and Global Prospector. The return to Turf should help him no end and the drop back to 5f should be seen as a huge positive. 74 is a Mark that can be taken huge advantage from and run up a sequence of wins.

Moss Gill 16/1 Each way 4 places

5:05 Laafy – I was hugely impressed by his seasonal reappearance at Leicester winning a pretty nice Novice stakes race. The ground that day was Good To Firm and he has shown to like it. It will be same conditions under foot on a big galloping home straight. He’s going up on trip which is a positive. Big day for Sir Michael Stoute and Ryan Moore expected

Laafy 7/2 Win

York Dante Day 2

Excellent day one at York 2 winners and 2 placed. With The non runner in race 2 I ended up on Soldiers Minute and he hacked up. Please follow @TenSovs2kg on twitter for updates on Nr

1:50 Line Of Reason is a old friend of the blog. He is trained by Paul Midgley and ran really well in both his starts this year, he has dropped down to a mark of 92 which is 1lb higher than his last winning mark of 91. He’s a course and distance winner in the past. Ground is perfect for him. Oisin Murphy knows him very well and will expect to go close

Line of Reason 16/1 Each Way 5 Places

2:25 Lah Ti Dar is well odds on and rightfully so. She’s miles better than anything in the field on all known form. Won’t say too much more but at 4/7 you can add her into doubles and trebles

15:00 Too Darn Hot The champion 2 year old is a machine, unbeaten at 2 and in this Derby Trial he will look to follow his full sister in the race before with a victory. I really like him as a 10f horse but he won’t be winning the Derby imo he races too freely and is so so quick but this is his optimum trip. He had a few Setbacks but at 5/4 he’s such good value. Looking at the Derby Japan and Line Of duty with close eyes both will at least stay the trip.

Too Darn Hot 5/4 Win

15:35 Commander Hen Trained by local trainer Kevin Ryan doesn’t do much winning but has been running very well around this current Mark. He will relish the ground conditions and pace put into the race. Front runners can steal it head at York and especially places. 5 places available and 16/1 i think he’s outstanding value.

16:05 Well Done Fox I was at York when this horse won in August over the same distance. I was super impressed, he loved the track and the ground that day winning in my opinion very easily. I expect him to be running in group races at the end of the year. If they have those type of ambitions with him he has to run a nice race here. Soldiers call is a lovely horse but may struggle to train on if possible.

Well Done Fox 9/1 3 Places Each Way

16:35 Hong Kong Master trainer Aidan O’Brien sends over a half brother to the Champion 3 year old sprinter Caravaggio. By the Triple Crown winning Champion American Pharaoh, this horse and this maiden will be held in high account all year. It’s a top maiden and most of them will win a race throughout the year.

Hong Kong 7/4 Win NR

17:05 Mancini It would be rude not to as one of my many followers is Jon Mancini and I Would hate myself if he went and won and I wasn’t on. A mark of 90 should see him within a chance of winning and coming in fresh will help. Ground is suitable and trip is suitable for him. James Doyle takes the ride and shouldn’t be far away at the finish

Mancini 14/1 Each Way 5 Places

York Dante Day 1

What a great meeting this is, i have a great time at this meeting usually over the years. York is such a great track and is well worth the visit, they do everything very well and the county stand is well worth the upgrade.

1:50 Everything for you is the one that takes my eye at the current prices 20/1. He’s had 2 try’s at York and ran well enough the second time and first time bumped into Group 1 performer Defoe so can be forgiven. His 2nd last time out at Musselburgh will give him a great chance, the 3rd that day was unlucky not to win at Musselburgh on Monday just bumping into a nice type.

Everything For You 20/1 Each way 5 places available.

2:25 Great Prospector is the one that catches my eye here on a mark of 94. I think that he’s better than this but this is also very competitive. His trainer is in great form with 12 winners in last 2 weeks. He does very well at York. I’m willing to back him each way at 11/1 and there are 5 places available on this race.

Great Prospector 11/1 Each way 5 Places

3:00 Invincible Army I think he’s the best horse in the race and will improve a lot from his first run of the season which he won on good ground at Doncaster. I think he’s a proper sprinter to be moving forward with this season and his price does reflect it. This is a nice prize to pick up OJ the way to Royal Ascot

Invincible Army 11/4 Win

3:35 Sparkle Roll I love this filly and so do John Gosden and Qatar Racing. David Redvers is quoted of saying she’s the best horse Qatar have in training and it’s kinda gone under the radar. The boss Johnny G also mentions her a lot when asked about the oaks and always first. Her win on return was a great run giving half a stone away to the field. She’s short enough for this race at 11/4 but she’s my Nap of the day.

Sparkle Roll 11/4 Win Also 16/1 Ante Post for Epsom Oaks

4:05 Karnavaal has some good form last year behind the Top class Skardu. He was well backed at Newmarket on seasonal debut, he’s got a mark of 81 which looks to be low and he is much much better than that mark in my opinion. He will take a lot of beating and has form on the ground

Karnavaal Win 7/2

4:35 Summer Sands now there isn’t much to go on in this race but with the information we do have is that Cool Silk the owners bought him as a 2 year old for £85,000 which was a £83,000 rise from his £2000 purchase as a yearling. What more is it’s by a Sire who’s not fashionable in Coach house but he was very quick as a horse, the dam is a half to Coventry winner Helvellyn. The pedigree screams fast and early. Being a breeze up at 2 and making the money he did by the Sire he would have to have done a nice time.

Summer Sands 16/1 Each way 3 Places

5:05 Delph Crescent a past winner at York for Richard Fahey last season this looks to be a mark of 81 that can be exploited taking this step up on trip and back on the turf after a run at Newcastle to keep him ticking over. I think that he is a 90 horse and can go close here of this Mark.

Delph Crescent 14/1 5 Places

Saturday 27th of April

Got a few i like today, after waiting to see going at courses.

Doncaster

5:45 Galactic Glow 8/1 The son of Champion first season sire No Nay Never looks a cracking Each way bet. Will her suitable ground. He’s well related to plenty of winners.

Haydock

2:05 Shady McCoy 20/1 he’s got the rain help his chance today. Always runs a good race and at 9 makes his seasonal debut. Trip and track suit his running style. First 4 places paid and think he’s overpriced

Leicester

2:15 Gobi Sunset 7/2 has a pedigree cross that I really like. Oasis Dream out of a Shamardal mare. Mark Johnston and SDS are in fine form of late. This is a Colt I expect to win first time out on pedigree

Sandown

1:50 Petit Pelais 25/1 Cracking Each way bet. Only really has ran one bad race and that was after the equine flu outbreak so can forgive him. He gets weight as a 4 year old and is on a good mark to go close. Check which bookie is paying first 3 or first 4

3:35 Beware the bear 14/1 Was pulled from Scottish National to come here by Nicky Henderson who does well at this meeting in the past. On a nice mark, found his winning grove again. 14/1 Each way is good price

Was given a couple for a each way double yesterday by a trainer who has an association with a few men who like to pull off these doubles. Just thought I’d pass on. Would be mad not have a couple quid on a Each way BARNEY Rubble on a Saturday.
Wolverhampton
7:30 throckly
8:00- jaycols star

Aintree Day 2

1:45 Koboruk – He’s been off the track for 700 Days but this Mark is far below what kind of horse he looked in France. If Nicky has him fit he will go very close in this highly competitive race. Has plenty of form in Soft and Very Soft which in France means heavy and swamp. So ground no problem.

Koboruk 20/1 1 point Each way.

2:20 Itchy Feet – this is a tentative pick, I would be all over Amaron if i was being honest, the ground has turned against him According to Ruby and Willie, although by the great sire Monsun which loved the soft and progeny all mostly like it and thrive in it. I’ve went for Itchy feet purely on the trainer and Jockey comments on Amaron. Itchy feet, will love the soft ground, and ran well at Cheltenham even though it burst blood vessels, if he gets round safe he will go very close.

Itchy Feet 4/1 2 Point Win

14:50 Lostintranslation – Have aired with the Tizzard runner here, he ran excellent and Cheltenham and step up in trip will help him. He might just be too quick in this ground for the big horse TopOfTheGame especially if he’s allowed a easy lead out front and allowed to dictate.

Lostintranslation 7/2 2 Point win

15:25 Min – Now this is a great race with loads of Questions. Politilogue last years winner and Waiting Patiently are the opposition who are high class on their day. We have not seen the best of Min this year and this is set up for him to get back in the big win column. It could easily be set up for him if waiting with him and can go from the front. It wasn’t the real Min we seen at Cheltenham and today is his day.

Min 10/3 3 Point Win

16:05 Adrien Du Pont – such a lovely horse who’s won at G1 level in the past. He got a shocker of a ride at Kempton over Further last time and finished really strongly when being put out the back. Has a G1 Win in heavy ground and he also comes in fresh after bypassing Cheltenham. 151 is a mark he can make a mockery off in my honest opinion and get back into graded chases.

Adrien Du Pont 14/1 2 Point Each Way

16:40 Downtown Getaway – now this horse has a huge future as a chaser, he was bought for £350,000 after winning a bumper in ireland. Though that is pennies when comparing to the flat Horses are sold for, its approaching top end for NH. On debut for Nicky he absolutely smashed through a few of the hurdles which cost him, he just got up on his next start at Ascot where he looked as if he really needed to go up in trip. Missed Cheltenham and we know how the AB leaves it’s marks on horses. I have no doubt he will be a future Gold Cup or even Grand National horse in the future.

Downtown Getaway 12/1 1 point Each way

17:15 Master Debonair – a lovely prospect who ran at Cheltenham and just got tired but he was off the track since November. I think the Champion Bumper was a excellent race. He’s top rated here and already seen of the short price favourite in November easily. If it was just down to fitness at the festival then he will go very close here and is a Each Way price. One to watch is TheBannerKingRebel there has been plenty of money for him Already even being of the track for a year.

Master Debonair 10/1 2 Point Each Way

Aintree Day 1

Aintree Day 1
13:45 Glen Forsa 4/1. Up in trip after unseating at Cheltenham, will take all the beating round here. His form is just as good as rest Fakir could really serve up to La Bague Au Roi up the run in.
Glen Forsa 4/1 – 2 Point win
14:20 Fakir D’ouderies 4/1. Ran a good race at Cheltenham in the Supreme, which is a much better race. Now back into Juvenile Company, with arguably the 2 best 4yo in Sir Erec who was fatally injured at Cheltenham Fussil Raffles not around still injured it’s over to Fakir to take this race.
Fakir D’ouderies 4/1 3 Point Win
14:50 Bristol De Mai 7/2 – The clear selection for me here, Kemboy makes too many mistakes, Clan Des Obeaux doesn’t get a yard over 3 miles. Elegant escape is a boat, Balko De flos and Road to respect barely beat a thing this year. So process of elimination BDM wins
Bristol De Mai 7/2 3 Point win
15:25 Melon 9/1 – really simple can’t see him out the front 3. At 9/1 he’s a great Each way bet or to be placed. I wouldn’t put you off doing same with faugheen. Beuver d’air is the most likely winner but at 5/6 after falling and not looking happy at the festival. Got to take him on.
Melon 9/1 1 point Each way
16:05 Asockastar 80/1 – This isn’t a race that I like as the Cheltenham form barely stands up unless your Name is On The Fringe. Patrick Mullins a interesting booking, a drop in trip should help after getting tired over further.
Asockastar 80/1 1 point Each Way
16:40 Forest Bihan 16/1 – Ran well at this festival in 2017 when 2nd to San Benedeto in a Grade 1. Ran a nice race at Cheltenham, the half furlong shorter should help him and gets a jockey upgrade to Brian Hughes who’s great round Aintree. Mark and ground are good for him in this competitive race.
Forest Bihan 16/1 1 Point Each Way
17:15 The Glancing Queen 11/2 – While most of these in the race have all bumped into each other and not too much between them I’ve went away from that form to The Alan King trained The Glancing Queen. She ran well in the Champion bumper at the festival and this is much easier. If the Rhinestone Cowboy wasn’t riding Daylight Katie i would Have been interested in her, Unfortunately he is riding her which is a 20 Length Penalty.
The Glancing Queen 11/2 2 Point win
