I have been away for a while with work and other personal things taking up all my time I’ve not really had time to blog along with my other projects. will post my blog at around 10am each day.
1:55 Theatre Territory – Made her chase debut at Huntington in November when 2nd to Casablanca Mix by 12 Lengths but still gave a good account of herself. A mark of 125 looks more than reasonable to get off the mark over fences. Trip and ground look fine for her to go close here.
Theatre Territory 4/1 Ladbrokes 2 Point Win.
3:40 The Dutchman – backed him last time out when he was a distant second to Sam Spinner in the Grade 2 at Haydock. He was the last one to lay it down to the impressive winner but was no match for him. He soundly beat Champers On ice and should do so again if both running to the same form. Ground and trip is ideal for him.
The Dutchman 5/1 Skybet 3 Point Win.
1:35 Value At Risk – Comes here In good form if can put the last run behind him on Heavy ground which looked to put paid to his chances. His run behind Unowhatimeanharry is by far the best form in the race. If he can produce that kind of run of 140 on much better ground he will be difficult to see out the first 3.
Value at Risk 7/1 Coral 2 Point Each Way.
Friday the 13th as you all say is bad luck but 13 is my lucky number. Some excellent racing on the day headed by the G1 fillies Mile at Newmarket. I have decided to also join Tipstrr which is a sight I can log all bets. They have a setup between 1-10 so there 10 will be 5 for us on here. They will email every selection I put so nobody misses any selections. Blog will continue here for reasoning behind each selection.
8:00 Long Island Sound – comes here after a tame comeback behind War Decree and was never in it. He will come on masses for that run and anything close to his highest mark of 111 would put him a easy winner of this race. He’s a massive price on that form and should win here.
Long Island Sound 11/2 Coral 2 Point win
2:25 I Can Fly – She comes here on the back of a impressive debut at Dundalk where she was backed all day as if defeat is out of the question. Well it seems they are now backing her the same way, was 6/1 earlier today now into as short as 10/3 in places. She won her maiden by 4L easily at Dundalk just sitting of the pace coming with a run at the rail, hands and heels to push her out but was very easy on her. 7f looked ideal and looks a special filly.
I can fly 4/1 Bet365 3 Point win
5:20 Crimson Rock – a lovely 3 Year old type who’s only had one start and won on debut in a nice maiden at Newbury over 1Mile. She got up at the line and will Appreciate the step up to 1m2f. She will be one to follow after this race as well. I have her down as going to be top class. She’s from a great family and could have went to easier targets on return.
Crimson Rock 18/1 paddy Power 1 Point Each Way
Another day of 2nd places makes October still a winless month but not to worry loads of time to turn it round will give myself a few more days to see if my luck will change.
4:05 Traditional Dancer – now this is a trappy race but think Iain Jardine is a master of winning races with these types of horses. He’s got 7lb claimer Jamie Gormley on with ground at Ayr being heavy this will help his chances a lot, he doesn’t mind ground at all and this seems the perfect opening to get off the mark on the flat
Traditional dancer 6/1 Skybet 3 Point win
7:15 Boynton – A big strapping horse at 2 year old which looked he would improve loads as a 3 year old. He’s the highest rated in the field and escape the Group 2 penalty and gets weight from the field. He’s the perfect profile for a race like this.
Boynton 5/4 Ladbrokes 5 Point win
October hasn’t been going great so far but plenty time to turn that around. National hunt is coming back around giving me more of a option each day.
1:50 Giuseppe Garibaldi – is a 2 year old I’ve been waiting on making an appearance at a racecourse. He’s by champion sire Galileo out of a Danehill Dancer mare called Queenscliff whose a sister to Caribbean Sunset and Ice Queen. He has a Derby Entry like most of Aidan’s but was mentioned a few times on stable tours that got me excited.
Giuseppe Garibaldi 7/2 Paddy Power 2 Point win
7:25 Airway – A 3 year old Gelding for James Fanshawe takes this step up in trip on his third start of his career. He beat Ennjaaz on his last start and that colt came out and boosted the form by winning next time out. A mark of 83 with George Wood taking another 3 off is more than a winning mark for the improving son of Poets Voice.
Airway 5/1 Bet365 2 Point win
7:55 Blue De Vega – Starts his career with Robert Cowell after being with Michael O’Callaghan for the start of his career. He’s a awesome horse who looks as if the change of scenery will help him. He’s top rated in the field 105, he is getting weight from his biggest rival in the beting who’s also rathed 105. A drop to 6f could also help him with the sprint king Cowell now taking control of his career.
Blue De Vega 10/3 Bet365 2 Point win
2:50 Sam Gold – This is one I’ve put up on both runs so far and he was very unlucky not to win the last time. He opened at 9/1 and got smashed into 7/2 Favourite where he lost by a head when running green and finishing fast. Andrea Atzeni takes over in the saddle and will hopefully get him settled early. The step up to 1 Mile should help him out also.
Sam Gold 11/4 Ladbrokes 5 Point win
Levante Player finished 4th unplaced with chosen bookmaker Stan James. He ran much better than he had been showing, possibly one to watch in the future.
2:40 Qemah – Gets better ground here at Newmarket. She’s ran 2 stinkers at leopordstown, she probably hates the tight track but this is different. She’s got the beating of this field on ratings along with Roly Poly but think she’s got the better chance. I’m not a fan of Persuasive in Group ones. She seems to run by beaten horses and flatters herself. She will look unlucky again on Saturday.
Qemah 13/2 Paddy Power 2 Point win
3:15 Astrologist – A lovely bred son of the Sea The Stars is a brother to Raheen House who is a lovely group horse who won at Ascot on Friday. Clive Cox has had a excellent two year old season and this is one that’s been talked about as one of his better ones.
Astrologist 5/1 Ladbrokes 2 Point win
3:20 Never Back Down – a Maiden winner over 5f earlier in the season for Hugo Palmer. His only defeat was behind Sound And Silence who’s went on to turn out alright, a horse called Unfortunately finished down the field and has went on to win a group 1 in France, that form is solid and gives him a solid chance here.
Never Back Down 11/1 Bet365 2.5 Points Each Way
Not a great start to the month with 2 losers yesterday. One I got completely wrong and looks a head case and the other given too much to do but will be a excellent filly in Time. Kind of at at a cross over with the flat and National Hunt but I will be continuing right through swapping over codes.
1:55 Levante Player – was given this horse as one to watch at the start of the season and he’s been tried in good maidens and the big sales race at York. He’s going off a mark of 71 which is about right but I’m sure there is improvement to come from him. I could be wrong but I’m sure he was a entire colt on his last run and now he’s gelded, often a sign that they are talented but not putting all in at the race course. I think he’s outstanding value and could be worth following for next couple runs.
Levante Player 16/1 Stan James 2 Points Each way
With September being very quiet on the selection front it helped me record a profit of 43.325 at a ROI Of over 93% which by any standards is a above average month. I’ve been asked for to try and place selections on a daily basis, il try my best to post at least one a day keep everything ticking over or you lose interest. I have also been contacted by several to donate for good days and months. I’ve set up a just giving page on my pinned tweet for a mental health charity where money goes straight to them. If you would like to donate anything at all it will be open till Christmas Day when I end my Go Sober Challenge.
6:40 Left Alone – a lovely debut run for Hugo Palmer where coming up the rail and switched out to Finish with a excellent turn of foot to finish 3rd. James Doyle gave her plenty of time to find her feet in the race and will come on a bundle for that run. I was really impressed with her at Yarmouth and instantly put her into a tracker. I’ve a feeling she’s a group class horse in time and will get of the mark here.
Left Alone 15/8 SkyBet 3 Point win
2:55 Come With Me – one i put up on debut at Yarmouth where she ran into a filly Called Wild Illusion who went on to win a Group 1 in France at the weekend. She was given a easy time on debut with taking a keen hold she was allowed to progress into the race without really being asked any serious questions. She will improve from that as most of John Gosdens do and this looks more than winnable on paper.
Come With Me 4/1 Ladbrokes 3 Point win.
Sam Gold was the last selection put up and was very green and got beat in a photo, gutted was a understatement. September has been a solid month with a ROI Of 81.08 which by any standards is excellent.
There is a excellent weekends racing coming up with Newmarket and Chantilly, what a time to love racing.
6:00 Dramatically – as most of you know I love the sire War Front and what he can produce as racing progeny especially as 2 year olds. Well as much as I love War Front he doesn’t come near the beautiful Wonder Of Wonders who is this filly’s dam. She was a outstanding and unlucky race mare. Donnacha comes off his brother Joseph’s Group 3 runner up who disappointed last week here onto this filly, that is often a sign as he would have been able to ride whatever one he wanted here.
Dramatically 5/1 Paddy Power 2 Point win.
8:00 War Decree – Another War Front who I just love, he ran poorly first time out and was found lame after Newmarket. He then went to the French Derby where not getting a great trip ran on extremely well over the trip. He’s been off since being prepped for a end of season campaign. He’s miles better than what’s in the field and gets weight from them. He should be winning this and then autumn campaign could be vital to Aidan on his push to 26 Group 1s
War Decree 2/1 Bet365 3 Point win
1:50 Aquamarina – she comes here after long break and a winning debut. She gets a step up to a mile and will be getting overlooked as a Robyn Brisland runner and Newcastle maiden winner. Followers will know that he loves to switch his horses each run from all weather to the turf. I believe she’s super talented and a outrageous price to get placed. Skybet are offering 5 places this race
Aquamarina Skybet 50/1 2 Point Each Way
A cracking days racing on the Saturday even though Ayr is already gone because of the weather.
1:15 Sam Gold – Much as before very highly thought of colt under the supervision of Roger Varian. He was well entered throughout the year in the big races, while his run at Sandown was a disappointment, the trainer echo’d it. David Milne reported that he was working extremely well at Newmarket. The trainers two year olds have came on a bunch from first runs of the season. This looks a hot maiden but he’s more than capable on home work.
Sam Gold 9/1 Bet365 2.5 Points Each Way
Tuesday was a excellent day with 2 winners at 7/1 and 11/1 and honeysuckle Lil being placed at 12s gave a massive profit. Finisher the last horse looked very green and as if he needed to step up in trip. 43.5 Points profit is not bad for a Tuesday.
3:30 Fleet Review – takes a massive drop in grade from his run at York where he was disappointing. He drops back to 6 furlongs which will help him. His form before York is good enough to win this race. If he bounces back he will take a lot of stopping.
Fleet Review 5/2 Ladbrokes 2 Point win
2:00 Homerton – Back on the Robyn Brisland express. He finished 4th behind Roaring Lion at Newmarket who came out and won at Kempton in a better race next time out which has worked out well. He was 4th here at Sandown a race that has worked out well. He is drawn 12 which maybe isn’t great but he has excellent place chances.
Homerton 20/1 Bet365 2 Point Each Way
3:05 Larchmont Lad – this is more riskier selection but playing on the David O’Meara effect. Now I don’t know how long he has had him from Richard Hannon but I know one thing, Richard Hannon has never improved a horse in his life while David O’Meara does it time after time especially from Richard Hannon. I’ve a feeling he is going to run a huge race at the price on Wednesday.
Larchmont Lad 9/1 Skybet 2 Points Each Way
